As the year comes screaming to a halt I find myself reflecting on work from the past 12 months. Have I learnt anything new? sorted any problems areas out? improved technique?
One of my main concerns or goals is to remain completely connected to the moment, just me and the painting. I am not interested in a representation of a landscape. For me, capturing the essence and feeling of a place is what keeps me wanting to pick up the brushes.
For the last month or two I have been painting the outside of the house and running workshops so it was pure pleasure to get back into the studio after a break and start painting again.
